Umberto Stefanelli, ein ehemaliger New Yorker, der seine Kunst in Japan entdeckte, fängt Bilder mit dem greifbaren, aber schwer fassbaren Medium des Lichts ein. Als selbsternannter „Bordeaux-Garagentor“ stellen seine Bilder rohe Leidenschaften und unausgesprochene Emotionen durch eine abstrakte Surrealität dar, der durch die Kunst der Subtraktion Tiefe verliehen wird. Ohne jeglichen Vorwand und in den unerforschten Wogen der Emotionen verwurzelt, verkörpern Stefanellis Arbeiten auf bemerkenswerte Weise den unbenannten Elan.
