Vera Bondare ist eine lettische Malerin, deren Werke sowohl national als auch in Russland ausgestellt wurden. Sie glaubt, dass ein zeitgenössischer Künstler nicht „vorwärts gehen“ kann, ohne die Vergangenheit und die Wurzeln der Kunst zu kennen. Infolgedessen kombiniert Bondares Stil traditionelle Techniken mit der neuen visuellen Erfahrung ihrer eigenen Emotionen. Ihre Arbeiten entstehen mit Öl auf Leinwand oder Leinen.
