The work explores time as a floating, relative presence — no longer fixed, but released from space and gravity. It evokes a sense of inner calm and quiet contemplation, capturing a moment of pause suspended between two states of being.
This work was created specifically for my solo exhibition held from January to February 2026, at the invitation of Galerie ArtTiberius in Frankfurt. I chose oil on canvas for this piece because of my deep connection… to the medium and my love for working with oil paint. Time, in this context, is understood as profoundly relative: at times a single second can feel like an eternity, while an entire lifetime may pass in what feels like a single second.

Marlene Schanz ist eine autodidaktische Malerin, die seit 2011 mit Farbe, Intuition und direktem Handkontakt experimentiert und ihre ganz eigene Bildsprache unabhängig entwickelt hat.
