This contemporary reinterpretation of Marilyn Monroe places one of the most iconic faces of the 20th century in a distinctly modern gesture: holding a smartphone. Through stencil work, graphic contrasts and layered urban textures, the piece creates a dialogue between old Hollywood glamour and today’s culture of constant visibility, screens and self-image.
Part of the… Legends collection, the artwork plays with Marilyn’s status as a timeless media icon and imagines how her image might exist in the age of social networks. The piece questions fame, image and self-representation, while contrasting classic celebrity culture with our contemporary obsession with being seen.
