Ellen Frischbutter is een opgeleide psychologe wier artistieke pad geleidelijk aan centraal kwam te staan in haar praktijk. Haar vroege werk met mandala's onderzocht non-verbale expressie en intuïtieve waarneming, en vormde de basis van haar beeldtaal.
Later wijdde ze zich volledig aan de schilderkunst en werkte ze met aquarel, acryl en uiteindelijk olieverf, waardoor ze gelaagde oppervlakken en ruimtelijke diepte kon ontwikkelen. Het proces van het opbouwen van een schilderij in zichtbare lagen blijft essentieel voor haar werkwijze.
Haar werken ontstaan vanuit innerlijke beelden, fragmenten van herinneringen en sfeer, in plaats van directe vertelling. Figuratieve elementen versmelten vaak met expressieve abstractie, waardoor open composities ontstaan die uitnodigen tot interpretatie.
Ellen Frischbutter is lid van de ASM Club – International Artists Association en de VAA – Visual Artists Association. Ze is genomineerd voor VAA Art500 | Momentum Programs | Preferred Artist.
