Olaf Kühnemann ist ein leidenschaftlicher deutscher Künstler, dessen Werke in Ausstellungen, Publikationen und Preisen in Deutschland, Großbritannien und den USA gezeigt wurden. Sein Hauptinteresse gilt der Erkundung dessen, was es heute bedeutet, ein Gemälde zu machen: Wie können Kunstgeschichte, zeitgenössische Praktiken und die gegenwärtige überwältigende visuelle Kultur in Einklang gebracht werden, um einen unverwechselbaren Weg zu finden. Mit Autobiography als Hauptthema komponiert er vielseitige Gemälde, die sich von großformatigen Szenen mit illustrativem Flair zu gedämpften, farblich und räumlich kontrastierten Porträts bewegen.
