Political and social satire. Staging of De Heem's 'Still life with a lobster'. The lobster has become a real social marker, it is only there for special occasions, a witness and unwitting actor in a meeting between two embittered worlds: the governing and the governed. Symbolising both strength and vulnerability, it is a perfect metaphor for the current political and social context.
Everything in this painting reminds us of abundance and splendour… (crystal glass, gold nuggets, silver plate...), reserved for an elite, completely disconnected from reality, particularly fond of lecturing by repeating that the trend is towards sobriety...
However, it would seem in the interpretation of the final image, of the picture as a whole, that the game is over, Mister Lobster has taken his place in the jacuzzi, enjoying an aged cognac and a Cuban cigar...

Jonathan Ouisse est un artiste français qui a exposé ses peintures en Hongrie, au Royaume-Uni et en France. Influencé par les gestes picturaux de la Renaissance italienne et de la scène hip hop des années 1990, ses œuvres pop surréalistes sont souvent «grotesques». Ouisse ridiculise l'humanité pour sa vanité à travers un symbolisme inspiré par la politique, les médias, les bouleversements environnementaux et l'enfance. Il crée à l'aide d'acrylique et de peinture en aérosol sur toile ou bois.
