Contemplating man in the digital age, and the fusion of reality and the digital universe.
After having spent a month at a residency in Finland without internet or mobile connection this series has particular sensibility to me.
The impact of the new digital age and the fact of always having ‘the answers’ on hand has a deep impact on our way of thinking. These devices and applications seem to increase our knowledge yet somehow impede our natural train… of thought. The simple yet essential pleasure of wonder and imagination.
I feel its important to be aware of this subtle, yet severe changes in our thinking.
Our train of thought is naturally drawn toward light and wonder, and is often impeded by distraction and the disguised ‘answers’ we believe these devices bring. We have begun transforming and need to be aware of the soul and fundamental aspect of our nature. In an age of selfies and devaluation of the human form , to remember the devine or universal nature of the body and mind.

Puisant son inspiration dans son enfance à Durban, en Afrique du Sud, et dans sa formation en art et design industriel, il crée des peintures qui mêlent formes structurées et gestes surréalistes.
Sa pratique multidisciplinaire englobe la peinture à l'huile, la broderie et la recherche conceptuelle, explorant souvent les thèmes de la lumière, de la vibration et de la transformation. Pitout a participé à plusieurs résidences d'artistes en France et à l'étranger, mettant à profit ces expériences immersives pour approfondir sa démarche artistique et enrichir son langage visuel.
Pour lui, le processus créatif est un retour aux sources intérieures – un espace de réflexion, de reconnexion et d’évolution de la conscience artistique.
