Stephen Mauldin è un artista americano i cui dipinti sono stati ampiamente esposti negli Stati Uniti. Negli anni ha preso l'abitudine di giocare con la pittura, per imparare di più su ciò che è capace e non è capace di fare. Questa sperimentazione ha portato Mauldin a inventare tecniche che coinvolgono la pittura su vetro e il trasferimento di quella pittura su tela, modificando le siringhe per produrre composizioni palmate e, più recentemente, a lanciare piccole quantità di pittura su tela ad alta velocità.
