This is where it began. Three couples dancing tango in the city. At the centre, a figurative pair painted with a brush — red dress, black suit, defined and present. Around them, two other couples already dissolving: one to the right, bodies without faces, the first signs of pixelation; one to the left, further away, rendered with a palette knife into something close to abstraction. The city explodes around them — white, yellow, blue, black.
Tango… Metropolitano is the work that generated my pictorial language. I was trying to capture the movement and connection that exist only in the moment they occur. Traditional painting was not enough.
This canvas holds the transition itself — figurative at the centre, fragmenting at the edges. The language finding itself in real time.
This work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions and published in catalogues.

I am an Italian contemporary painter. Born in Southern Italy, I spent years moving through structures that did not represent me — economics degree, corporate work, even politics. Always searching for myself, and for freedom. At forty, painting emerged as a necessity, the place where the search for myself became a pictorial one. My language is the pixel pittorico — fragments of colour applied with a palette knife, breaking down and recomposing images. Up close, the works appear abstract. Stepping back, figures, faces, and urban landscapes reveal themselves — unfolding connections and possibilities. Exhibited nationally and internationally, my works are held in private collections in Europe and the United States, and include a cover of musician Alphonso Johnson's album.
In a time that accelerates, simplifies, divides, and flattens, my art offers a space where complexity is value, fragment possibility, and sharing completion. A space where anyone can feel welcomed for who they are.
