Castañón is een ervaren Mexicaanse kunstenaar wiens werk internationaal op grote schaal is tentoongesteld. Hij is een surrealistische figuratieve schilder, beïnvloed door de Mexicaanse kunstenaars Siqueiros en Varo, en waardeert hoe O'Keeffe zijn ogen opende voor de poëzie van de details van het leven. Door zijn uitgestrekte muurschilderingen, perspectief-buigende stijl en technische precisie, brengt Castañón ons ontroerende esthetische momenten.
