Fred Phillips, ook bekend als Parhelion, is een in Barbados gevestigde schilder wiens werken de scheppingsdaad zelf als de ultieme boodschap benadrukken. Hij ziet het leven als levendig, gevuld met losbandige energie die constant in beweging is, die hij belichaamt in zijn werken door het gebruik van rauwe kleuren. Voor Phillips is een spontane demonstratie van creativiteit de antithese van wanhoop. Zijn abstracte expressionistische werken zijn gemaakt met acrylverf op canvas.
