Karin Elisabeth Høie is schilder, fotograaf en beeldend kunstenaar, opgeleid aan de Einar Granum Kunstfagskole en de Folkeuniversitetet. Ze combineert vakkundig acryl, olieverf, inkt en fotografie, met een voorkeur voor non-figuratieve, moderne schilderstijlen die de wisselwerking tussen gedefinieerde vormen en negatieve ruimte verkennen. Høies spontane techniek, subtiele kleurgebruik en incidenteel figuratief fotografisch werk roepen een diepe emotionele resonantie op, die haar fascinatie voor menselijke relaties en haar achtergrond in vruchtbaarheidsgeneeskunde weerspiegelt. Haar kunst balanceert op delicate wijze tussen duisternis en licht en nodigt de kijker uit om na te denken over de complexiteit van verbinding en bestaan.
