Kenneth Hay is een begenadigd beeldend kunstenaar die werkt met schilderkunst, fotografie, tekenen, grafiek, sculptuur en digitale media, met een rijke academische en internationale achtergrond. Hij was voorheen hoofd van de afdeling Beeldende Kunst aan de Universiteit van Leeds in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en hoogleraar Esthetiek in Brno. Hij studeerde in Leeds, aan de Accademia in Florence en aan de Universiteit van Wales. Als schrijver publiceert hij veelvuldig over kunst en esthetiek. Samen met Seetha A richtte hij Moorland Productions op, een creatieve samenwerking waarmee ze gezamenlijk werk, projecten en tentoonstellingen realiseren. Als kunstenaars is hun werk geworteld in figuratieve tradities, maar beweegt zich vloeiend tussen abstractie, conceptuele series en diverse historische en culturele stijlen, waarbij ze elk medium en elke beeldtaal kiezen die past bij specifieke thema's. Hun kunstwerken zijn gelaagd met intellectuele diepgang en formele schoonheid, en brengen een doordachte dialectiek tussen inhoud en vorm over, die zowel nieuwsgierigheid als diepe emotionele resonantie oproept bij kijkers die bereid zijn zich in hun complexiteit te verdiepen.
