Onder de naam Uomo Nero creëert Christoph Czarnetzke een mysterieuze fusie van archaïsch ritueel en introspectieve zelfontdekking door middel van schilderkunst en beeldhouwkunst. Zijn radicaal gereduceerde lijntechniek, waarbij hij uitsluitend zwart op wit gebruikt, roept gemoedstoestanden op in één enkele, onherroepelijke penseelstreek en transformeert schetsen in doeken of sculpturen. Zijn kunst peilt de onzichtbare wereld en nodigt de kijker uit om zijn of haar eigen verborgen emoties te ontdekken in het meditatieve samenspel van licht en schaduw – donker en direct, maar altijd als oorsprong en uitnodiging tot zelfonderzoek.
