About this artwork
In creating this painting, I sought to capture the stark contrast between the enduring strength of rock formations and the fleeting beauty of autumn leaves. Using a palette knife to create hard edges on the cool, shadowed textures of the rocks provide a backdrop that accentuates the warm, vibrant reds of the leaves. This juxtaposition invites a reflection on the transient vs. the permanent elements of nature, infusing any space with a sense of groundedness… and a reminder of nature's cyclic beauty.
Barbara Bugg is a seasoned American artist, trained in Art from Centre College, with masterpieces displayed across the nation. Her unique technique involves creatively manipulating initial images on a computer, before transitioning to canvas, using a palette knife to birth a possibly abstract or real representation. Bugg's art, focusing on love for forests, people and plants, unravels a journey of interpreting her surroundings. Her paintings burst with the vibrancy of life’s possibilities, manifesting her exuberant adventures and joy.
