About this artwork
"Next Stop" is a detail of a city context. In the foreground the machine seems to come out of the picture, forcing the boundary of the canvas, to meet us. The framing is deliberately misleading the machine enters forcefully in the canvas, a detail accentuated by the choice of the Red color, a strong, dominant color, if I had chosen another color I would not have obtained such an explosive effect.

« I am a painter in the sense that nothing separates me from being a shape, a color, a clean surface... »
Chiara Abbaticchio is an exciting Italian painter who has exhibited her work nationally. Constantly searching for unity between line and colour, she composes works that balance form and material with both vibrancy and harmony. Her themes include female subjects that appear soft and independent, and urban landscapes such as New York's iconic yellow taxis and and scenes of everyday life. The co-existence of these themes presents an overall image of a modern society - ours - that is defined by continuous movement between individuals and environments.
