Malaika Sabu-Baudi, a self-taught artist of Belgian and Congolese descent, explores figurative painting and textile art, grounding her practice in the multifaceted narratives of identity. Her acrylic and oil-water-based portraits, enriched with floral and geometric motifs on canvas and textiles, orchestrate layered textures, assertive gazes, and vibrant surfaces. She captures the dignity, radical gentleness, and sovereignty of Black women, inviting us to experience vulnerability and power in a human and feminist celebration of presence.
