Mariana Scvo

Mariana Scvortova works with painting, drawing, fresco, tempera, mosaic, watercolor, and pastel – her diverse background ranges from the Tallinn Academy of Fine Arts to teaching positions in Germany and Switzerland. She favors realistic techniques, experiments with colored backgrounds and a variety of materials, and is inspired by classic museum works as well as a deep sense of nostalgia. In her artwork, she conveys a quiet, almost yearning emotionality and an unwavering desire to uphold beauty and idealism against the commercialism of the present.
