A graduate of the Académie Charpentier in Paris, Arlette Sandre, better known as Arlsan, primarily uses painting and drawing for her artistic creations. Mastering the art of glazing and the use of metallic powder, she creates profound and detailed works where the nuances of shadow and chiaroscuro come alive. Always guided by her feelings, she captures fragments of travel, eroticism, and everyday life, succeeding in conveying sincere and captivating emotions.
Method: I draw on the canvas with a pencil and then cover it with a colored primer made with oil and pigment. I make a water-based emulsion and grind white pigment into it. Using the tip of my brush, I apply the emulsion to the canvas; when it's dry, I apply a thin coat of the emulsion, then I make an oil-based medium and work it all together with burnt umber, finally intensifying the white areas. When everything is dry, I finally apply the colors one by one, allowing each to dry completely.
