Ortega, trained in Cuba and based in Spain, uses mediums such as painting, photography, collage, and installation, fusing tradition and avant-garde in her irreverent pop surrealism. Her hybrid techniques combine collage, vibrant graphics, and the manipulation of iconic images to create polychrome works, intervened with acrylic and ink, decontextualizing symbols and challenging the established order.
