French painter Francine Scrignac has won several awards for her art and affirms that one should never forget one's dreams. Scrignac notes that the freedom of endless combinations of colors, surfaces, and forms can allow for a dizzying sense of liberation within open abstraction. She revels in taking risks and defies the comfort of repetition by continually experimenting with different media, including collage, pastels, paints, and spray paint.
She has great admiration for the artists of Abstract Expressionism and readily quotes J. Pollock: "If you paint from your unconscious, forms must emerge from it. Every good painter paints what he is." Deeply attached to the spontaneity of the gesture, she discovers herself even more by including precise, deliberate elements in her works that convey sensations and inner reflections.
