Giada Wood Caracristi, a painter who grew up in a family of artists in Trentino-Alto Adige, in the Italian Alps, uses acrylic paints and natural Venetian pigments in powder form, worked with Japanese calligraphy brushes. She began her artistic career in Rome, where she lived for many years. Her technique is influenced by Ukiyo-e, a style to which she has devoted herself, creating works that have been exhibited and purchased worldwide. She now lives in the mountains of upper Lombardy, on the border with Switzerland, at an altitude of 800 meters. She dedicates herself to creating honest works, painting them on recycled wooden materials, often traditional Alpine tools and artifacts. Her works depict faces and bodies that assert sovereignty and self-determination, conveying powerful emotions of emancipation, pride, and a profound love for humanity.
