The brothers Lischke and Lischke have been working together since 2013 on a painting style that doesn't depict communication, but rather visualizes it as an artistic process. Their first projects were created in 2014 at the Munich University of Applied Sciences under Prof. Thomas Günther and Prof. Ben Santo. Influenced by their backgrounds in psychology and design, they develop images that are always painted simultaneously on a single canvas. The resulting work is not a record of individual actions, but rather a multi-layered surface of overlays and corrections, sustained by oil as a slow, breathing medium and tools such as brushes, squeegees, spatulas, and cloths. Their style is abstract, process-oriented, and dialogic; each work is the condensed result of collective engagement. In their words: "Our paintings are spaces for conversation—communication made visible."
