When I have the paintbrushes in my hands, it's a dream come true. Lydie Massou expresses her vision of the world through painting that has evolved from figurative to semi-abstract. This self-taught journey, born from a deep desire to convey the imagination, has been nourished by pivotal encounters and dedicated studio practice. The artist works primarily in oil, appreciating its texture and vibrant character. She favors using a palette knife to structure her compositions directly on the canvas, complementing this technique with the use of large brushes to spread the pigments and create color harmonies. Her favorite themes, such as the sea, flowers, and distant horizons, testify to a sincere attachment to nature. By seeking to respect the elements, she composes works where the movement of water and light invite escape and contemplation.
