Manorack Phenglamphanh

My work explores the shifting boundary between photography and digital painting. A self-taught artist of Laotian origin living in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, I develop a practice where the photographic image becomes material, support and pretext for a deeper transformation.
My works oscillate between abstraction and figuration, between appearance and disappearance. I play with textures, superimpositions, and accidents to thwart visual expectations and shift the gaze toward what eludes the obvious. This process, nourished by experimentation and multiple influences, seeks less to represent than to evoke feeling.
I invite the viewer to a sensory and emotional experience where the image ceases to be a simple object to contemplate and becomes a space for projection, doubt and inner resonance.
My intention is to reveal the invisible part of reality, that which is more sensed than shown, and to open up a field of renewed contemplation.
