Woo-jin Kim, a South Korean sculptor with a masterful academic background in sculpture from Hannam University, primarily works with stainless steel, transforming it through meticulous welding and vibrant industrial urethane coatings into luminous animal figures. His technique deconstructs steel plates and reconstructs them with rhythmic fragmentation and “Black Touch” brushwork, fusing painterly lyricism and sculptural depth. Kim’s work radiates a vivid vitality, reviving memories and childhood dreams, and aims to console viewers by infusing warmth, nostalgia, and a utopian longing into the cold realities of modern life.
