About this artwork
Creating is an attempt to express nature and the world, to give them form and meaning. But this quest for beauty constantly comes up against the reality of our own imperfection, our ephemeral nature. Art is essentially a questioning of human nature, which delves into the heart of the complex and essential relationship between man and the nature that surrounds him, a relationship that is both instinctive and contradictory. A human being seeking to… dominate the natural world while remaining inevitably linked to it, marked by its laws and mysteries. This duality, this tension between the desire for mastery and submission to forces beyond him, creates a fundamental paradox. Hence this vision of humanity caught in a sort of "Gordian knot", a tangle of links with this nature, which he constantly seeks to untangle but which he cannot cut without risking losing a part of himself, or even losing himself entirely.
Abel Amalric is a French artist who has exhibited nationally and in Panama. Through his art, he explores daily life in its most banal aspects to depict "the true and raw beauty". Abel Amalric considers artistic techniques and styles as narrative tools intended to “tame the moods and intentions of the moment”. His diverse artistic expression adapts to the particular story or subject he wishes to tell.
