About this artwork
In this work, I sought to capture the depth of an intense emotion through a raw and symbolic face. When I finished this portrait, I thought of the sun's smile: a great emotion emanated like an enveloping warmth! To finish it, I made it up with a palette of warm, red tones that bring even more fire and passion to this portrait. It reminds me of my students when they arrive in my classroom with their smiles bursting with life!
