About this artwork
Part of my River Thames series. In this piece, I poured my passion into capturing the raw energy of nature meeting structure and the calm water beneath. The bold orange and green express the vitality of the trees, contrasted by the cool blues of the sky and water. Using both acrylic and oil, I created texture that invites you to feel the dynamic tension and harmony, bringing energetic calm into any space. (There are two small holes in each corner… of the canvas to attach a yellow perspex sheet if preferred)
Adrian Flaherty, with a background spanning Post-Impressionism, architecture, and a Sculpture degree from Camberwell College of Art and Design, works across painting and conceptual art. He employs a style he calls "Reasoned Chance," blending the unpredictability of abstract expressionism and chance methods with purposeful mark-making, inspired by artists like Duchamp and Pollock. Through organic forms, dynamic textures, and a vivid use of primary colours, he explores human struggle, environment, and the tension between chaos and order, imbuing his art with a powerful sense of resilience and emotional intensity.
