About this artwork
At an event, I saw a couple with wonderfully contrasting skin tones. Their deep intimacy resonated with me, and I later asked them for a photograph of their hands. Initially, I wanted to paint the picture realistically, but as the process unfolded, I opted for a more abstract, colorful version to emphasize the different stories and personalities that make up a couple.
