About this artwork
In Interlude, the language of abstraction unfolds with a force that is both poetic and restrained, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a contemplative pause where color becomes experience. The surface, worked with dense layers and intense glazes, articulates a vibrant dialogue between warm and cool tones: luminous yellows radiate vital energy, ascending reds burn like burning memories, while blues and greens burst forth like chords that…
balance and soften the chromatic intensity.
The work is perceived as an interval between two worlds: the earthly and the intangible, the ephemeral and the eternal. The texture, deliberately rich and material, generates a sense of internal movement, as if each chromatic fragment breathes in harmony with the next. Its visual rhythm is reminiscent of a silent score, where each tone establishes a cadence that envelops and moves.

« Inspiration and abstraction go hand in hand in my work. »
Adriana del Carmen Madrigal Valencia is a Colombian artist whose paintings have been extensively exhibited nationally and in Italy. Nature and color in her childhood gave rise to her taste for coloring and drawing her surroundings. For Valencia, everything is based on color, as well as the constant change and evolution of the being over time. She creates in an abstract style and paints using acrylics applied with a spatula. This multi-layered technique brings bold texture to her work.
