About this artwork
The work shows a boat standing on the shore of the sandy coast of Madagascar, just after reaching its destination, it is doused with water and very old. The driver of the boat is very happy that he can get there quickly. While painting this work, I was thinking about how tired the driver is of life and exhausted by his constant journey, and what joy he gets from reaching the shore with freshly caught fish that he will soon prepare for dinner.
