About this artwork
Stem the Tide – by Alanah Jarvis
This painting pays tribute to and acknowledges the Australia’s First People throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and community.
Stem the Tide is an old sailing term meaning to prevent a situation from becoming worse than it already is. We make many choices throughout our lives, its important that we take a step back to reflect, admire and be proud of all the accomplishments and failures… we have faced and the way in which we handled them. All we have are moments. Chose the perspective that stems the tide and be happy.
This painting is placed on professional grade canvas and the edges have been painted to create a faux frame. A big, beautiful ocean for your space to bring all the calmness that comes with being out on the water.
« I hope that these oceanscapes create a sense of calm and vastness in your space that comes with being in, on, under, or next to the sea. »
Alanah Jarvis is an artist based in Australia whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. Describing her artistic practice as "spiritually encompass abstract into reallity", she endeavors to capture the essence of the sea, with its rolling movement and light. In her creative process, Jarvis most often employs oils on canvas.
