About this artwork
Ce flacon, objet du tableau, a été trouvé récemment dans une brocante à Paris et date de 1906. Il représente un alchimiste fabriquant l’élixir de vie.
Il a été fabriqué par Royal Doulton, entreprise britannique de fabrication de poterie et de céramique.
La collection Kingsware dont fait partie ce flacon de whisky fut développée par Charles Noke et produite entre 1898 and 1939. Aucune autre usine au monde n’a pu recréer la même finition lustrée.…
A noter que Doulton a également fabriqué les lavabos du Titanic (1912).
