About this artwork
“Tired of this shit…
I’m going to smoke my bones
Break my gums bare
Domesticate my hunger
Narrow my gaze
And see behind the bed
Almost on the floor
Where an immense sea appears
A cliff
The sun
Sunset
Love
And two men
Who drink tears
And spit out truths
Through insomnia.
White blue in energetic black.”
/ Sebastián Paez
Two men, experienced, from different backgrounds
They meet in a landscape. There is brotherhood. There is a gesture,… and I have the incredible luck to witness it.

« In the Sky, there is no transition between Red and Blue [only Green and Orange]. But then there is the Earth... and the Brown appears. Earth is the transition between Sky and Water [between Red and Blue]. »
Alejandro Mariotti, mainly self-taught and with studies in stamping and engraving, uses a wide variety of media, from ink, watercolour, acrylic or oil, to natural pigments and fluorescent paints. His approach is essentially experimental, with expressionist and impressionist overtones, exploring light and color with a unique sensitivity through motifs captured live directly from observation. His works generally straddle the line between figurative and abstract. He seeks to convey spontaneous impressions, pushing formal boundaries and awakening in the viewer a sense of freshness, creative freedom, and a deep connection with the moment.
