“What you have to be vs. what you wish to be... the inner conflict no one can ever erase — except yourself.”
In this work, Icarus is not depicted in a classical way, but as a modern, colorful figure – tattooed, rebellious, and free. He represents a journey through time, from mythology to the present. For me, he represents my own self from about 25 years ago – a time before life was defined by responsibility.
Icarus symbolizes the inner conflict… many of us know: the constant struggle between who we want to be and who we have to be. This image tells of that – loudly, honestly, and full of color.
