About this artwork
There's a particular quality of green that belongs only to the first light: the light that hasn't yet become day, that arrives before the world wakes and finds everything still in its place. This is that green. In "Green Revelation," the tree stands at the center of a luminous field, receiving a ray of light that seems to descend not from the sky, but from a faraway place, from a space unnamed in the visible world. The circular format encloses the… image like a lens, or a memory: something seen in its entirety, in a single glance, impossible to fragment.
The light here isn't warm. It's precise. It doesn't comfort, it reveals. And what it reveals is the tree in its most essential form: a vertical presence, an immobile axis between earth and sky, between what is known and what cannot yet be said. Technique: acrylic on 300 g/m² cotton canvas, mounted on a wooden frame, diameter 90 cm, thickness 2 cm. Ready to hang.
« Painting is a coloured poetry and a way to reach the sensation of beauty. »
Alessandro Piras is an experienced artist based in Italy whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally and in San Marino. With a professional background as an illustrator and graphic designer, he describes his distinctive style as being versatile in nature. Through his diverse works, Piras celebrates life and vitality. He primarily creates with acrylics, oils, and enamel on canvas or wood. His work is organized into three main bodies of work. RUSH gathers paintings dedicated to sport — racehorses, greyhounds, judo, American football — where gesture close to action painting releases pure energy through color. BODY OF WATER explores swimming as an experience of suspension and freedom, a journey through a fluid blue world where the boundary between body and water dissolves. STILL AXIS is the most contemplative series: trees illuminated by shafts of light that become a metaphor for the human condition — the search for meaning, the hope that passes through silence.
