SILENT STONES cycle
The "THE SILENT STONES" series was born when the COVID pandemic was beginning to recede. In those months, it finally seemed like we were emerging from our torpor and isolation.
The sculptor began to see everything come to life again, observing that nature was awakening, even the stones seemed to come to life. From these lively tremors, his new cycle began to take shape.
He then creates works where small or monumental stones… come to life and come together.
In the renderings, one senses a silent and magnetic space, a place of meditative gathering. A setting that conveys mystery and contemplation. The suggestion is that of being catapulted into mysterious rock temples. The works resemble stelae, brought to life.
In his subsequent works we begin to glimpse the assonances, similarities, and sense of veiled melancholy and metaphysical aura that we find in Giorgio Morandi's still lifes.
