This artwork is made on an OSB (Oriented Strand Board) wooden board on which I applied layers of acrylics and resin leaving the wooden slats that make up the board clearly visible.
The artwork offers an intense reinterpretation of the portrait through a rich materiality and a vibrant palette of blues contrasted by warm accents.
The… textured surface suggests a material research that gives depth and three-dimensionality to the composition.
The layering of materials creates a dynamic surface and the free brush strokes and the shading of the features give the portrayed female figure an aura of mystery.
The gaze, rendered with penetrating blue eyes, possesses a remarkable expressive force, communicating emotional depth.
The soft light delicately models the face. The work evokes an atmosphere suspended between dream and reality, blending figuration and abstraction.

Alessio Mazzarulli transforms everyday materials into a reflection on time and perception.
After his debut in clay modeling, he transferred his three-dimensional sensitivity to material painting, where relief and tactility become central.
He uses fragments of recycled paper, rescuing traces of everyday life from oblivion, and with acrylics and resins he “freezes” time in deliberately distorted images, composed of fragmentary elements that invite an overall vision.
In the “Dot Art” series, he uses small wooden discs to explore the voids of memory: the spaces between the elements evoke what is lost and push the observer to reconstruct the image, creating a dialogue between reality and perception in which time is experienced through erosion and visual recomposition.
