Earth Landscapes project is an attempt by means of traditional fine arts using traditional media (oil on canvas) reflect the change in the perception of the planet Earth by people and especially by artists.

GOOGLE EARTH (...) It is even more that global search machine or the biggest geo data source, but also a global machine of visualization of our world on a planetary scale. For artists Google Earth is an instrument that opens an access to… the boundless pictures of our planet. This visualisation is machine-made therefore unbiased and objective which is make GE an ideal ground for artist’s comprehension, reflection, and processing. The globality and universality of the GE make artists more connected with each other like never before. We all have key to the same data but our way of processing it is unique and that is why GE has a great potential to contribute to the development of contemporary art.

Alexander Lufer is an experienced painter based in Germany whose work has been featured in solo and group shows internationally. With a background in architecture, Lufer developed his artistic practice inspired by the Dutch Vanitas and artists like Jeff Koons. Working in oil on canvas, he explores themes of technology and the tension between tradition and modernity through altered landscapes and unexpected still lifes.
