About this artwork
This work is full of energy! My work combines expressionistic energy and the depth of the semi-abstract. I use acrylic and charcoal to depict the intense red tones and the vibrancy of the amaryllis. These flowers not only represent beauty, but also strength and the ability to renew. The light-flooded atmosphere appears light and delicate. The flowers reach into the picture space from below and fill it with tension and presence. The watercolor lightness…
of the background and the fine but decisive depiction of the stems further support the power of the flowers, which bloom in strong red tones. I use golden pigments to add subtle yet very elegant accents in some places. Since the artists mostly make the colors themselves, they are very pure and radiate into the room. These paintings fill every room with elegance and energy!

Alexandra Hiltl is a German painter and draftswoman whose works are widely exhibited worldwide. Her art moves between abstraction and figuration and is not specifically concerned with botanical or physiological accuracy, but rather with the "atmosphere of the moment". The beauty of living things touches her deeply, and Hiltl compositions reflect an emotional imagery. Working primarily in watercolor technique, her artistic practice requires extreme concentration as she allows the color to flow along with concentrated shaping.
