About this artwork
In creating this piece, I captured the vigorous dance of ocean waves using collage of cyanotype and film screen printing pieces. The vibrant contrast between the deep blues and the vivid purples invokes the dynamic energies of water in motion, reflecting nature's powerful yet serene qualities.

Alexandra Pikunova (b. 1981, USSR) is an artist based in Munich. Her path to art was not direct. Although she was interested in creativity from a young age, she first studied engineering and worked in that field for many years.
At 34, she decided to return to her early interests and studied art and design. She later focused on product design, creating objects inspired by Soviet modernist architecture, often using concrete.
After moving to Munich in 2022, she shifted her focus to fine art. This change allowed her to express her ideas more freely. Today, her work explores the relationship between people and architecture, combining her background in design with experimental artistic approaches.
