About this artwork
The grand houses of Devonshire Road were built alongside Princes Park from the 1840’s. My painting combines traditional and more contemporary techniques with scraping and drawing with layers of paint, ink and pastel. This reflects accretions of history, and the subtle variations of elegant architecture, delicate details and stucco surfaces.
