About this artwork
Pappalardo's work presents itself as a material and chromatic investigation where the paper medium becomes the field of a tension between light and sedimentation. Through the use of oil, the artist constructs an abstract spatiality that rejects defined lines, relying entirely on gesture and the overlapping of layers. It is not a static image, but a landscape of the soul where white is not absence, but a silencing force that envelops the elements. The work invites the viewer to contemplate, attempting to decipher what remains visible beneath the dense layers of paint.
