About this artwork
The work represents the atmosphere of a rainy morning under the arch of Mairena del Alcor (Seville, Spain).
It was done en plein air. That day I wanted to paint, but it started to rain, so I decided not to. On the way back, I saw that under that arch, sheltered, I could paint, and it also showed a magnificent view with the tower in the background and the wet ground, so that day I finally painted, and made one of the works I am most proud of.
It… is a work done in watercolor, with great density, and selected pigments, creating unique contrasts.
It belongs to the PLEINAIR series, which is a series of works made between 2024 and 2026, in which these atmospheres of urban landscapes are captured, in works made on site.
