About this artwork
In this work, I explore the connection between nature, the human body, and inner transformation. I treat the model as a living canvas, applying deep black pigments, gold, mineral textures, and organic elements to create a visual dialogue between the human and the divine.
For me, black represents silence and origin; gold symbolizes the inner light that each of us carries, even within our shadows. The branches, textures, and minerals I apply by hand… onto the skin evoke roots, memory, and resilience.
Through this series, I investigate how identity can be reborn when we embrace our fractures and allow beauty to emerge from within. Each piece becomes a visual ritual—an invitation to contemplate the strength found in stillness and the luminosity that arises from contrast.
My intention is for the viewer to feel a personal connection to their own story, their inner nature, and that golden spark that remains untouched even in moments of darkness.

Alfredo Sanchez is a Mexican photographer whose compositions have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Panama, the United States, and Belgium.
