About this artwork
"Woman in Green" was born from a reflection on the concept of silent abundance. In this work, I wanted to explore the ancestral connection between the female figure and the cycles of the earth, removing the subject from a purely pastoral representation and placing it in a timeless, almost metaphysical dimension.
The Material Challenge The choice of handmade pure cotton paper was crucial to the creative process. It's not just a substrate, but a living… organism that interacts with water. Its irregular texture and absorbency allowed me to develop a refined "graininess," especially visible in the desaturated background. Here, the pigment settles into the fibers, creating a hazy atmosphere that serves as a counterpoint to the almost sculptural precision of the portrait.
