« My drive to create arises from the need to discover and unravel the mysteries of femininity: what it covers and what it conceals, desire and the body, repression and pleasure. »
Each work begins with a blur of colors that ignite in my mind, which follow one another across the canvas, without any rational intervention or judgment. The figure appears in the scene and gently pushes itself forward, reconfiguring the space and the whole, with a line connecting the figure and its surroundings, a bridge, a close-up.
My inspirational role models were changing into women of different ages and shapes, pushing back the norm of what is beautiful and changing the representation of our women's bodies from centuries of male gaze.
When I have the model I'm portraying in front of me, I feel all the majesty of her body, her truth, her desire, and her eagerness to be seen. I relish that moment of self-confidence and surrender to being admired.
