A mountain peak rises toward a total eclipse - the sun consumed by darkness, the summit reaching into silence. Around the composition, fragmented dark wings extend from the edges, as if the landscape itself is alive and watching.
Eclipse Over the Summit is a symbolic painting exploring the tension between ascent and surrender, light and the absence of light. The heavily textured surface - built up with acrylic and texture paste - gives the mountain… a sculptural, almost mineral presence that changes with the light.
